Yu Gardens and Bazaar

The shops sell everything for the tourists from souvenirs to Chinese medicines, the area is very popular so my advice is to get there early and head for the beautiful and relatively peaceful Ming-dynasty Yu Gardens (Yu Yuan)
Things to see at the Yu Gardens and Bazaar
Yu gardens Bazaar are the little stores at the Yu Gardens, Have great fun haggling the prices down to a sensible level. There are loads of great gift ideas on display so get yourself a little piece of China.
Huxingting Teahouse Built in 1784 by cotton merchants, and only became a tea house in the late 19th century. The zig zag bridge protects the structure, as evil spirits can’t turn corners.
City God Temple dating back to the Ming era the temple once housed the patron god of Shanghai and encompassed an era as large as the bazaar. Now this small restored temple is very popular with tourists.
Yu gardens are split into 6 scenic areas which makes the whole place feel larger than it really is, the gardens get very busy towards the afternoon and at weekends.
